One Week

I'll be home in one week. I cannot wait.

French Final - I need to learn French. No lie.
Play Analysis Final - Need to finish The Seagull, Copenhagen, Julius Caesar and go over the Greeks
Play Analysis Paper - Need to DO it.
Shakespeare Final - Need to read Richard 2 and Henry 5.
American Lit Final - Need to reread half the books/at least skim half the books from the semester
Criticism Final - Read Theories, Falling Into Theory and skim the books

Never will I ever (if there's any way around it) take 3 English courses (plus 1 text based/writing Theatre course) in one semester.

I'm achin' for Bagel Train, Starbucks, my bed, the Diner, my family and just... to be home.

Well, hey.

I'm a Greek. A Sorority Sister of Delta Phi Epsilon, Chapter Epsilon Iota at SUNY Geneseo.

My Big is Yeidy Santiago and my Big Big is Robyn Steinhilber. I love them both!

My family is the Trojenns, and my family line is the Ladybugs.

My Pledge Class includes 11 other girls, and we are the Phi Rhos! I love them already!!

My Pledge Mommies are Ashley Klopf and Erica Rath.

It's awkward and confusing and embarrassing and, even more so than anything else, it's wonderful.

I'm so happy.

I don't understand.
I'm not complaining, but...
Why?
What's become of us?

A New Hobby

My old hobby? Well, one of them was crying. I was an emotional WRECK (and I mean it, a total mess) from March until about October. Seven months? I cried at the slightest hint of, well... basically anything. And this morning? I cried again, when I haven't in quite a while. The reason why I cried isn't important... well, not as important as my realization afterwards. Instead of mourning the loss of a moment, instead of lamenting that a memory has come and gone... I choose to commemorate it and celebrate the moment. I'll review the pictures from it, write down the silly quotes and look over them with gladness... no more tears.

Therefore it only makes sense that my new hobby is? SCRAPBOOKING.

I've got such a beautiful life - I should be celebrating, not crying.
Call it a late New Year's Resolution. Better late than never, right?!

Another Year Has Come and Gone..

I cannot believe it is 2009. Like... where did 2008 go?

So here it is. The end of 2008. So much has happened this year. In February, my parents officially divorced. I was the lead in my high school senior musical. I finished applying to college, got accepted into college.. WENT to college. I left my entire family and all of my friends for the first time in my life. I turned 18, a legal adult. I hosted a huge scavenger hunt in the mall. I’ve realized who I want in my life, who I need in my life and more importantly… who deserves to be in my life. Who belongs there. I couldn’t make it without those people. And I’m so glad I’ve made more friends at school – no, I don’t have a huge gaggle of friends. But I do have my roommate, who quickly became one of my best friends; I have three girls who are there for me every moment and who honestly enjoy my company – likewise for them! And I’ve learned so much about myself; I think going away from Suffern really helped me grow and extend myself.

I can’t believe a year has gone by – it flew. Our senior year. Our freshman year. Our “last summer”… We graduated high school and have just… grown up. When did that happen?! Even though I’m incredibly nostalgic, I’m so excited to see how 2009 unfolds: where it brings us, what it brings us and how we grow. I can’t wait to make so many more memories with the people I love.
